OUR MISSION

THE GOAL is very simple. We're here to raise THE VERY BEST quality GRASS FED BEEF and SEASONAL PRODUCE possible! 

At the heart of 1000 Reasons ies our 32-acre farm in Echunga, home to our beloved Black Angus cattle. We are deeply committed to sustainable, ethical farming, focusing on natural soil health and low-intervention practices that produce nutrient-rich pastures — the kind our cattle truly thrive on.

Our approach is simple: "happy cattle, healthy land, honest food". We don’t use harmful herbicides, or pesticides. Instead, we work with the land — improving soil structure, encouraging biodiversity, and fostering lush, protein-rich grasses.

Our Angus herd is not only well-fed, but well-loved. Each animal is raised with respect and calm care, often found nudging in for a good scratch. It’s this trust and connection that makes a difference — both in their wellbeing and in the quality of the beef we serve.

At 1000 Reasons, we believe the best food starts at the source — and for us, that source begins right here on our farm.

Just steps from the kitchen, our kitchen garden and orchard grow a changing palette of seasonal produce: crisp greens, fragrant herbs, heirloom vegetables, and sun-ripened fruit. It’s not just about growing food — it’s about growing connection. To the land, to the rhythm of the seasons, and to the stories that each ingredient carries.

Our chefs work closely with the land, planning menus around what’s flourishing — whether that’s ruby chard in winter, sweet figs in summer, or vibrant herbs year-round. Every dish begins with a walk through the garden.

But we don’t do it alone. Beyond our own soil, we proudly partner with like-minded local growers and producers from across the Adelaide Hills — people who, like us, value quality, care, and sustainable practices. Their passion and expertise bring depth and diversity to our menu, from handcrafted cheeses to seasonal specialties.

Together, our farm and our community of growers create a table that’s truly regional, deeply respectful of the land, and always full of flavour.
